Thank You, New York: Our Stationery Fest Recap, Plus What's Back in Stock
New York, thank you. We are still coming down from it.
Three days at Welcome to New York! Stationery Fest in Industry City, Brooklyn — July 30 to August 1 — and our first time ever meeting RiN! Studio customers in person. We wrote about why this trip mattered to us before we went. Now that the boxes are unpacked, here is what actually happened, and everything from the table that is now in the shop.
Three Days at Industry City
We have NYC in heart for years before we ever got to set up a table in it. Our table was small, loud, and full from the moment the doors opened. We came from our Shanghai studio with a suitcase of New York artwork and no idea whether anyone would recognize it. They did.
The Thank Yous, Properly
To Neil and Daisy, and everyone at Yoseka: thank you for taking such good care of us. From the first email to the last box packed up, you made a big, busy event feel like being welcomed into someone's home. The warmth you put into this shows in every corner of it.
To our fellow makers and vendors: sharing a room with you is our favorite part. Thank you for the borrowed tape, the table-watching, the honest shop talk, and the joy of watching each other's work find its people. This community is generous in a way that never stops surprising us.
To Stationery Fest: thank you for building a place where paper, ink, and small studios like ours can meet the people who love them. Platforms like this don't appear on their own, and we don't take them for granted.
To everyone who stopped by our table — the ones who came with a list, the ones who just wandered in, the ones who came back a second time to say hello. And to our families, who pack, drive, carry, and cheer. Thank you for believing in RiN! Studio, sometimes before we did.
And to our team, Leo, Kame, and Xuan: you were on your feet all day, smiling through the rush, remembering every customer's name. RiN! Studio is what it is because of you three.
What We Learned at the Table
Three days of watching people shop teaches you more than a month of sales reports.
The Statue of Liberty pin was the thing people picked up first and put down last. Nobody needed the joke explained — Miss RiN Liberty is apparently just how New Yorkers already see her.
The washi wall did what it always does: someone stands there for ten solid minutes, holds two rolls up side by side, asks a friend, and then buys both anyway. And more than one person opened a pocket mirror, looked at RiN pulling a face on the front, and laughed out loud in the middle of a crowded room. That one told us we got it right.
The NYC Collection Goes Online
The Fest crowd got first pick, as promised. Two pieces from the New York collection are now in the shop for everyone who couldn't make it to Brooklyn:
New York Statue of Liberty Enamel Pin — $13.49
Our first-ever enamel pin. 50mm, real enamel on polished metal: every black line in the original drawing became a raised metal wall, with the color filled in between — the mint crown, the two tones of orange hair. Run a thumb across it and you can feel the outlines. Comes on a printed backing card, ready to gift.
New York City Vinyl Stickers — $4.49
90mm, waterproof and scratch resistant, big enough to headline a laptop lid or a water bottle. Two designs: Big Apple, the city in a single bite, and Miss Liberty, still holding that torch up over the harbor.

Also New: Our First Pocket Mirror
RiN Girl Pocket Mirror — $10.99
Not a New York piece, but it made its debut on the same table, and it was the product we were most nervous about. 75mm round, real glass, RiN illustrated on the front. A mirror is the one thing you look into on a bad morning, and it seemed like a waste for it to just sit there being neutral about it.

This restock is mostly the traveler's notebook side of the table, which is exactly what people kept asking us about in Brooklyn:

A cover, an insert, a roll of tape, and a stamp set is a whole setup in a single order, which is roughly how most of these left our table.
